Montepetriolo (Perugia) - Umbria
“Our long experience in caring for vineyards and working in the cellar has taught us that respect for nature and tradition are the real secrets to a good wine. We follow its rhythms and let our work be dictated by the moon and the seasons.”
Wisdom passed down to the new generation
The tiny hilltop village of Montepetriolo is the backdrop to the vineyard of the Tiberi family, fourth-generation winemakers. Nestled in the rolling hills of northern Umbria, about 350 meters above sea level, on the southwestern shore of Lake Trasimeno, this historic family of local farmers and winemakers is quickly becoming a benchmark for the Umbrian region and beyond.
Cesare, grandfather of Federico and Beatrice Tiberi, has lived and worked all his life in this village. He has been harvesting grapes here since he was a boy and still remembers helping to plant some of the small vineyard plots with his father. He knows the land like the back of his hand and knows exactly how the vines perform in each row.
This farming wisdom is a family treasure, a link to the past that is helping the younger generation bring the family winery into the modern era.
