Cascina Barbàn is an experiment, a collective. A farming project involving two families. A stone hamlet dating back to the 1700s, abandoned for half a century, located on a plateau in the Upper Borbera Valley, sheltered from the north winds and exposed to the sun.

Recovery and memory

We have recovered the last historic vineyards of the Borbera Valley, in the territory of Figino, Albera Ligure. We did this because we believe that in this historical period, recovering and investing in memory is fundamental to trying to build a better future. To date, we have planted about 3 hectares of new vineyards, but first, we wanted to recover what had been done well and with so much effort.

We believe that if you want to move forward, in any path or project, you need to understand and value what was done before you arrived. We are trying to add what has been done before to what we intend to do now. We will see what the sum will be...
