Mamoiada (Nuoro) - Sardinia

An “S” that stands for style and passion

The curved “S” on the labels of Cantina Giuseppe Sedilesu is not a mathematical symbol, but rather a family history full of dedication. Since the 1970s, the Sedilesu family has been cultivating vineyards in Mamoiada, a mountain village in the heart of Barbagia at an altitude of 650 meters. What began with one hectare is now a winery that combines tradition, a love of nature, and modern craftsmanship.

Family and tradition

Today, Salvatore Sedilesu and his family are the second generation to run the winery. As a member of the Mamojà association and the Strada del Vino Cannonau, the Cantina is committed to sustainable viticulture, respects nature, and works closely with the local community.

Mamoiada – Terroir of Barbagia

The village of Mamoiada, picturesquely situated at the foot of Gennargentu, offers ideal conditions for Cannonau. On 15 hectares, supplemented by small parcels of the rare white Granazza variety, the vines thrive in the traditional bush form (alberello).

Calcareous soils, natural vegetation, and minimal cultivation preserve the balance of the terroir and give the wines their unmistakable expressiveness.

Cannonau and Granazza – wines with real character

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and fermented spontaneously with the grapes' natural yeast. This results in authentic wines full of personality:

Cannonau: Ruby to garnet red, with aromas of cherry, myrtle, plum, blackberry, and spicy notes of Mediterranean herbs. Fresh, elegant, and easy to drink on the palate, with fine tannins and subtle salinity.

Granazza: a rare white wine variety, vinified independently for the first time, classic or with a short maceration period – fresh, full of character, and unique.

The wines of Cantina Sedilesu are deeply rooted in their homeland – authentic wines of Sardinia that you can feel and enjoy.
