Evita and Stefano Eboli

Orvieto (Terni) - Umbria

Orvieto, a small appellation straddling the provinces of Umbria and Lazio, stands out for its rich wine-growing history and the remarkable quality of its terroirs. Some vestiges of the early days of viticulture, caves dug into the volcanic tuff by the Etruscans in the 10th century, are still used today for aging wine.

In 2019, Evita Eboli and Stefano Marconi moved to the region with a vision: a natural vineyard that would restore Orvieto's historical potential. They took over two small plantations totaling 1.5 hectares. On one side, vines planted in 1972 at an altitude of 500 meters on volcanic soils and on the other, vines planted in 1958 in the Santa Madonna area, which is more clayey. The plots are surrounded by chestnut trees, fruit trees, and olive groves, and the winemaking, which is always natural, takes place in one of these ancient cellars dug into the tuff.
