Salvagno is a village in the Chio Valley, where most of the Badini farm is located. In the 1800s, the Badini family owned a vineyard in Salvagno consisting of pergolas with the right exposure to the sun.
The grapes produced from this vineyard were excellent for the production of vinsanto, the typical sweet Tuscan wine. That vineyard no longer exists, but cuttings were taken from it to obtain shoots of the same varieties. These are still used by Giuseppe, the owner of the farm, for the production of vinsanto. Native varieties of white and red grapes are used: Malvasia Toscana and Canaiolo.
