Montepulciano, just like the grapes themselves, is as appealing as the animal that witnessed their birth: the fox is naturally seductive, and Montepulciano is pleasing in its own right, needing no adjustments—with small additions of Negroamaro and Primitivo to round out the profile. The fox was the first animal to follow Luigi on his vineyard inspections, among the untamed rows of Sogliano Cavour: hence the name. The blend is born in the vineyard, not at a table in the cellar—the same non-interventionist philosophy that guides the entire production process determines the proportion of grapes here, rather than a calculation.
